Location Advice

Choosing the right place to make your new home can be a difficult decision. We’d like to help you make the right choice and tailor our property searches to meet you needs. A great place to start is by familiarising yourself with the locality and assessing which facilities are the biggest priorities for your lifestyle. We’ve compiled some suggestions aimed at our most common client categories.

The Commuter location advice
Guildford is both practical and attractive with it’s cobbled high street and a mere 35 minutes by train from Waterloo. The A3 means both here and Aldershot are an easy drive to the City, the latter of which has great sports facilities for letting off steam after work. Although further out, Basingstoke’s transport links mean Reading and Oxford are added to the list of simple commutes. Camberley has the massive draw of it’s close proximity to the M3, but for somewhere smaller Hindhead is picturesque and uses the modernised A3 to zip up to London. Petersfield benefits from this road too but with more stunning countryside thrown in.

The Family location advice
As a large town Guildford is brimming with amenities from schools to doctors plus an impressive range of venues for the culture vulture. The Leisure Park in Basingstoke is a fair rival with cinema, bowling, and ice-rink to name but a few and has plenty of good-sized housing. A great choice of schools surrounding Camberley widens your choice, and high street shops should keep kids entertained. Families can come together through sport in Aldershot with it’s amazing facilities and close communities, or you can run around Hindhead Common for free of course. Petersfield will charm most families with it’s lush greenery, quaint markets and open-air heated pool.

The Young Professional location advice
With a golf course of a great standard, peaceful Hindhead makes a great place to entertain friends at the weekend. Desirable Petersfield offers outdoor excursions for the adventurous, with several lovely pubs for that well earned drink afterwards. An army career will often lead to Aldershot given the large base there, but with a lively comedy club and sports centres galore it has a wider appeal. A young age average in Basingstoke stems from the abounding job opportunities, with an impressive array of bars and entertainment options to match. Numerous spas in Guildford can soothe those late nights at the office, whilst Camberley hosts big brands in it’s mall for some retail therapy.

The Retired
For leisurely walks and fresh air Hindhead and Petersfield are both ideal, with lots of craft and musical clubs to join too. Activity centres in Basingstoke welcome the elderly for a wealth of societies to suit all tastes so you needn’t find a single day dull. Choral enthusiasts will find groups to join in Aldershot and can enjoy the bustling centre from the large military family contingent. Purpose-built retirement properties in Camberley make this a desirable area for those stopping work, whilst Guildford offers easy trips to London as well as plenty to do in the day.
